Hyeundeungsa 3-story Jijin Pagoda
The foundation stone for this pagoda is a two-layered supporting layer and the joining of the four edges can be clearly seen. The body stone and the roof stone are both made of one stone and a corner pillar is expressed on the body stone of the pagoda. Beneat the roof stone is a roof support and the second story is made of four layers, while the third story has three layers. The water drain slope is relatively small and the protruding corners flow horizontally and drop sharply towards the edge. Legend has it that Jijin Pagoda got its name when a Bojoguksa, a high priest during Heejong of the Goryeo Dynasty, discovered a light from the stone lantern and that he wanted to use the energies of the Hyeundeungsa Temple while reconstructing the temple that was closed for several centuries.
